Ghana’s Esoko and Flippy Campus Made it to the Finals of Appsafrica Innovation Awards 2015

The Innovation Awards 2015 celebrate the enormous growth in mobile, technology and entrepreneurship in Africa. The finalists nominated for the awards were announced today on the Appsafrica website. Two Ghanaian tech companies, Esoko and Flippy Campus, got nominated for the Best Disruptive Innovation category and the Best Educational Innovation respectively. Esoko is a simple but powerful communication tool for businesses, projects, NGOs and governments to connect with farmers. Use any mix of our web and mobile apps, original agricultural content, and on-the-ground deployment services for your marketing, monitoring and advisory needs. Flippy campus is a mobile application that gives users (students) timely updates about their universities in Ghana. The Innovation Awards 2015 attracted over 200 entries from 21 countries, across 3 continents.

The awards will take place in Cape Town on Monday 16th November with key industry players from the African mobile ecosystem on the eve of AppsWorld and AfricaCom, Africa’s largest mobile and telecoms event. The awards have Pan-African support from leaders in mobile, tech and innovation including Mobile Monday South Africa, iHub Kenya, CcHub Nigeria, Think Rwanda, MEST Ghana, Kenya and Women In Tech Africa.
